The Motto of NSS “Not Me But You” reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. Social responsibility is the idea of involving students in the task of national service. It is aimed at the quality of educated manpower. The responsibility of NSS is to prepare the students for final dedication in the service of society. The main objectives of NSS are, understanding the community in which they work; identifying the needs and problems of the community and involve the students in problem-solving; develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility; utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems; develop the capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters; and practice national integration and social harmony.

A common goal of academia is to promote community service among the students to make them acquire the experience of service-learning by providing ample opportunities within the student’ s curriculum.

All the services of the NSS Unit are carried out through regular and Special Camping programmes. It is active and involves students in a number of programs such as ‘National Integration’, ‘Clean and Green’, ‘Village Adoption’, ‘Environmental awareness’, ‘Blood donation’, ‘Medical camps’, ‘Visit to Orphanage’, ‘Plantation’, ‘Sanitation’, ‘Immunization’, etc. The students fulfill their social responsibility by involving themselves in these activities. During the past few years, the NSS Unit has adopted villages. These adopted villages are given priority where student volunteers and the P.Os directly involve themselves for the development and upliftment of such villages. Within these areas the Unit has also undertaken several programmes like – literacy campaign, energy conservation, Cleanliness drive etc. Under the Government’s Programme of plantation and afforestation, the Unit has planted thousands of saplings at different sites and places.

the volunteers willingly donate their precious blood for the poor and helpless patients. The Unit is known for its Ready-Donors. Scores of people knock our door at the time of emergency and they do receive assistance. This is, indeed, a selfless and humble service to humanity and also a laudable service of the Unit.

The NSS Unit of the college has played an active role in inculcating the much needed holistic approach among the student fraternity. It has provided diversified opportunities to students to develop their personality through community service. The NSS Unit of this institution has always been active and a number of commendable services have been performed for the society. Keeping in view the needs and expectations of the community, it has always been the endeavor of the college NSS Unit to render its services at its level best.
